Mazda – MX-5 Vs The Mountains
Spanning 4 countries, 167 spine tingling hair pins and over 3000 miles, we teamed up with London agency Redwood to shoot the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata cruising through five of the most legendary mountain passes in Europe.
Using drones alongside car mounted cameras, we captured the action for a large feature in Mazda’s latest issue of ZoomZoom Magazine.
Our brief was simple – showcase the sheer scale of these impressive passes with the MX5 itself acting as our guide. Using drones and car mounted cameras, we captured both the action and the vertiginous corners from every angle possible.
In the confident hands of a professional driver, we navigated the twists and turns of the epic roads of the Col de Turini, Furka, Fluela and Stelvio passes, only to finally reach a halt at the finish line of the infamous Grossglockner.
Despite a couple of close calls with other car and motorbike enthusiasts who had travelled the distance for these incredible roads, our cameras and crew remained unscathed – if a little worse for wear from those aptly named hairpin bends.
Launched across Mazda’s global platforms and in their monthly ZoomZoom Magazine, the 5 films and Instagram teasers gave petrol heads across the world an insight into the best passes Europe has to offer.
