The Random House Group

Online, Television

“The world’s first truly global book publisher” and a loyal friend of Progress, The Random House Group have provided us with an array of filmmaking opportunities, delivering content at lightning speed.

Throughout this long-standing relationship, we have produced a plethora of book trailers, author interviews and animations for over 150 of their published titles.

How It Began

Our relationship with Random House began in 2010 (prior to their merger with publishing powerhouse Penguin), shooting a series of author interviews at their offices in Central London. Since this first shoot, we’ve delivered on briefs of all shapes and sizes, flexing our creative muscles with international bestsellers such as 50 Shades of Grey through to biopics of celebrities such as Russell Brand.

The Book Trailers

Our creative team has revelled in shooting trailers for some of the UK's top authors. From romance novels to twisted thrillers, receiving a book trailer brief is always an exciting moment at Progress, with a new opportunity to create something special.

The Author Interviews

From John Cleese and James Ellroy to Caitlin Moran and Tony Parsons, the writers we have had the pleasure of filming over the past five years have been truly inspirational. An author interview can make many forms, from a simple sit down chat to more elaborate presentations of the book in question.

The Chefs

We have been lucky enough to join some very talented chefs in the kitchen, promoting Penguin Random House's vast roster of food writers.

The Specials

Sometimes the brief is a bit different, requiring us to create a little magic at an organised event, or just to create a fresh way of promoting a new book.

The Animations

These opportunities often provide an excuse for a touch of animation, giving our motion graphics team a chance to lend their talents.

No two shoots are the same at Penguin Random House, and we couldn't be more excited for the next chapter to begin.
