Southern Water – Beauty of the Beach
Over the past two years, we’ve spent time on England’s finest beaches, creating content for Southern Water’s #BeautyOfTheBeach initiative.
Aimed at improving the cleanliness of UK beaches, #BeautyOfTheBeach highlights the small steps we can all take to ensure the region’s waters continue to glisten. As proud Brighton residents, this was a project we held particularly close to our hearts.
A proud south coast
Filmed over three days in summer 2016, the first instalment of our series saw us travel from the Isle of Wight’s Shanklin Coast through to Margate’s idyllic Joss Bay. Featuring regular beach users, the film emphasised the need to keep the country’s coastlines clean, from the perspective of those directly affected.
From Hastings to Warpole Bay
We teamed with the water provider again the following year. Capturing a day in the life of Tom, Southern’s Bathing Water Manager, this film was all about collaboration. Visiting the Sussex Wildlife Trust, Walpole Bay Swimmers Club and Hastings Council, the second instalment demonstrated the ways people can work together to improve the quality of bathing water in the UK.
Waves of approval
Rolled out across Southern’s social channels, the films proved popular with the company’s online following, with viewers voicing their appreciation at the engaging way Southern conveyed their important message.
