'Essential Worker' unpicks the painfully normal morning routine of Ruby, a supermarket cashier. We watch as Ruby begins her day and heads toward her place of work. But we also hear the tormenting flashbacks of harsh interactions with members of the public, the unpleasant truth being that all of these voices were based on real life experiences shared with us from genuine retail workers.
We finally lead our audience toward a Retail Trust information page, encouraging those who have experienced similar abuse to reach out to the charity for support.
